NEW YORK, NEW YORK

The Final Ensemble Sketch / Summer, 2002

MIME SPOKEN HERE recently received a dv tape from magician Scott Jameson  from Massachusetts who attended the last workshop that Tony and Karen held in 2002 at the Celebration Barn. This is just an archival record of the final sketch of the evening… a lock-down shot from the back of the theater. The choreographed piece is a graphic mime in its early stages… an “impression” of New York City. It was created through a process of devising by taking turns sharing half-baked ideas and then choreographing the various impressions to build a routine with an opening, middle and ending. As Tony explains in setting up the sketch, this improvisational process is referred to as Rounds.
