Improvising at Celebration Barn / 1980’s
A master of improvisation, Tony opened the world of improv to much more than comedy. He taught an approach to improvisation that would produce complete stories always winding down to a unique conclusion whether alone, as a duet or as an ensemble. He was always very fond of improvising with Lee. In one of his last workshops, Tony spontaneously endorsed Leland to us by saying “Leland can do this!” Here is a closing improvisation between Tony and Lee at a student show at some point in the early 1980’s. He took two words from the audience. They gave him “nerds” and “desire.” This is what followed.
